Anyone else tried to dowload and update the C8 firmware and noticed that the zip file seems to contain files (it's 65k) but won't display the contents.

I have no problems with any of my other zip files.

anyone?

Just checked and the files are there.
You should be able to click on the download, save to your local hard drive, right-click and choose Open, and save the unzipped file to your desktop.
You may need to enable "show hidden files" and see if that makes any difference.
When you unzip the download, you should have a folder named:
Command|8 Firmare Update

Inside are these 2 files:
App V02.00.02.srec
Command|8 Firmware Read Me.pdf

From the enclosed Read Me, try navigating to unzipped folder using the update instructions and see if the file is recognized then:
"To update your unit, find the C8FirmwareUpdater (located on the Pro Tools 6.4 installer disks) and copy it to your local drive.Mak e sure Command|8 is connected to your computer and powered on.Launch the Updater and press the ‘Update Firmware’ button. Navigate to the .srec file, click on it and the update process will begin automatically."

Thanks for the quick reply. I already checked to make sure that I am showing hidden files - which I am, and there are no files or folders present. This is strange - all my other zip files work fine. Can you mail me the srec file to my profile mail account?

What's even more bizarre is that the zip file is 64.5k in size?!&*&^£

Don't worry. I downloaded the Windows Stuffit Expander and the mac .bin firmware update file and that worked for me. There is defo something up with that zip.
