C8+002r and 002

I wondering If you can choose between C8+002r and 002 which one you gonna choose? Why?

a month ago i was on the same situation
it depends on what you are going to do
for me the 002r and C8 was the best choice.

could you please tell me why you choose 002r+C8?

I have only used the 002 as a demo in the music store. But I own a 002R and a C/8 and I think it's a better combo. I think you get more control with the C/8. Plus all your connections are not on your desk. I've only had my C/8 for a month or so but so far I like it alot.

C8 with 002 rack will be better for a project studio setup , as you can use them apart, and have upgrade options with 002 to Hd, ect... and still have the cooler looking C8,
But I feel they dropped the ball with the lack of simultaneous duel view of name and value,
for the C8.


The 002 Is way more user friendly for a compact setup,
giving you more mobility and less to lug around if you have a laptop setup.

Get what you like to look at !!!, Because you will Use it if you like it, and by using what you like , you will become productive... and that's really the whole key of it all anyway...

Big advantage of the C8/002r setup is it will allow you to upgrade easier when something better comes along.
Better controller get rid of the C8 or better PT interface get rid of the 002r.
The 002 make you lose both at the same time.

Just wondering if anyone is using a 002R setup with a C-8 on a G4 Powerbook? Im thinking of setting such a system up and am intersted in any potential configuration issues etc. ?

just reading thru posts about which to choose 002r+Cmd8 or the 002
there seems to be very little difference

I wonder are there people out there who have been doing a lot of film post work who might have noticed any downsides or advantages of one over the other

Hi,

I have owned both setups. 002 first for 18months and now the 002 rack+C8. I do like the new combination. It may be my imagination but transport seems to be quicker in its response. I also like the Bigger LED read out on the C8. Another advantage is that you can swicth the C8 into stand alone mode for tweaking another program, then switch back to PT. Also the upgrade options are important as the 002 desktop doesn't drive a HD system but the C8 will. the monitor section of the C8 again seems much more defined, again it may be my imagination, but unplugging one then pluging in the pther it does sound different. (read Better)

There is one advantage to the 002, as opposed to the C8 and 002R. You can buy a C8 in addition to the 002 and hook them up together for 16 faders. You can't hook up more than one C8...
