what are the pros and cons of using 1 or 2 monitors with audiovision??? on the one hand, we already have too many monitors in our studios, but on the other hand i suppose you could leave more windows open (meters, e.q.,etc...) and of course; use the 2nd monitor for video (although not full screen i understand). i'm currently leaning towards using only 1 monitor, and getting a small (9 inch) ntsc picture monitor for myself at the mix position...any suggestions out there?

2! 2! 2!
I use 2 monitors for AV stuff only. The more screen real estate the better. I send the NTSC to an auxillary 5" monitor in between the two 20" AV screens as well as the main studio monitor.
The less I have to dig around for the proper window, the faster I can work. With 2 monitors, I have almost every window arranged to grab with a click. I've never actually taken the time to learn the window shortcuts, so I may not be the best judge, but dragging and dropping clips from bins to the clip editor/timeline and clicking for each window is seriously nice.

in direct contrast to steve, i've always used only one monitor. it never seems to be a problem. but then again, i've never tried using two....
