Some AV questions:

How can I get to know the console commands of Audio Vision. Are they USEFUL to know?

Why isn't there a button for frame-view in the bin when the manual says so?

The transfer-from-MC issue: Doesn't AV delete audio files after copying them from a video disk? Sometimes it asks me if I want audio files to be copied onto an audio drive in order to be able to play them back. I do this when I transfer from MC, but I don't want to be asked to copy these files over and over again.

The input video dialogue is always defaulting to composite. I want it to be component and have tried to save a setting there. The setting have always disappeared when I launch AV later, and it defaults to composite again.

Hope some of you can help me.

Kind regards,

That video input setting is not global. It's PROJECT specific. I too wish there were a way to change it globally. And in my opinion, console commands are not useful to the end-user. They are helpful to the programmers, but not us, so learn 'em if you like.

Hope this helped.

Hello,

Console commands are not something I would say you need to memorize, as Fajita said, for the most part they are used by software engineering. They are used sometimes for system fine tuning and some preferences.

You can see the list of the console commands and a very brief description of what they do by typing "Lvar" and return. There is also a list in the back of the AV manual.

The Frame view option in bins was not included at the last minute for a couple of reasons, as I understand it, 1) the amount of work to included it would have severely pushed back the release date, and 2) AudioVision is more of an audio application so the thought was that the majority of the clips would be audio as opposed to video and therefore would not benefit from having the frame view.

As far as the file copy thing is concerned, to get around this, use the Media tool to locate the files and delete them. Be careful though.

Unfortunately, there is not a way to globally set the video input type.

Thanks,
