Hi Tom

here's the latest...
I can't save =ANY= sessions/projects files at all within my ProTools v.4.2.1 NT software.

And yes, i'm really serious.

I tried creating a new session, recorded, edited, mixed and then did File > Save session or > Save session as and also > Save a copy of the session in... and I get a FATAL EXCEPTION LOG XXXX; ProTools must quit error dialog.

And this happens not only once a day, it happens EVERYTIME I try to save my work. Even if the Session's empty or full of audiotracks / plug-ins it crash with this dialog.

With this said, we just can't afford to work professionnaly with this PT system at this time because of those EXECPTIONS logs that make ProTools quit before saving the work done...
1) it appears to me like a software bug in the code of the program
2) or MAYBE something incorrect in our computer config.

Could it be also a SCSI hard drive related problem? Ours is a Seagate Ultra-SCSI not Digidesign approved but used to work 100% okay with Session 8 all the time.

Thanks for helping again...

(BTW, the new exceptions logs were, again, emailed to you)

Tom, i'm gonna clean up and reformat all my drives in FAT16, re-install Windows NT 4.0 Workstation with sp3 and go step by step with the PT's for NT manual and i'll let you know if the problems about saving and exeptions logs are gone by tomorrow's afternoon.

This must be a corrupted registry problem or configuration in the BIOS. And with the new dsp farm,I guess things will be better too !

Tom !

I Finally founded out what was causing those weird problems ......
In my BIOS setup. i had UDMA activated on my primary IDE system boot up drive.
As soon as I desactivated it, EVERYTHING went OKAY.
All the troubles are gone....no more dae -9125 errors, no more exceptions
logs so far...all of them, except for my DSP farm which has always an error
code 3 in Digitest. But i presume this will be fixed as soon as I receive the new farm that u sent me yesterday.

Until then, dont worry for me, everything's is under control..and PT NT is wonderful :-)

Hi Dan. I was just about to call you but I went to check out your post for review. What a break ! That's is such good information. I'd like to say I probably would have started in the Bios, but I still might not have noticed that. Need a job ? Just kidding. But thanks for nailing that. Let me know Monday if you've received the Farm. I'll call you to see if it's relieved the #3 error. Have a productive weekend.
