just yesterday, i was complaining about the fact that it was so expensive to get a Digidesign system, whichever...
well, the fact of the matter is that 4 weeks ago, i bought myself a m-audio 1814 for my home studio purposes, because i didnt have enough i/o with my delta 44, and the MOTU 2408 i bought doesnt cut it for me.
and now, today, i receive a email from the m-audio newsletter stating the facts about the M-Powered PT... imagine my face when i read that. Yep, well i'll soon enough be able to use ProTools at home, what a great thing.
now, a question, i tried the demo version, and tried configuring my yamaha 01V to control it. i found the specs on how to configure it, but it says that i need the JL Cooper settings to be able to use my 01V, and the demo doesnt have it. Does the full version contain these settings?
well, good to see that i'm not the only one happy about this... lata

look around rigth here on the site for the "legacy midi controllers". Download the folder for PC, unzip them, and move them into place. ( or click here (http://www.digidesign.com/download/controllers/) )
On my system (ptle 6.4cs9) it is C:\Program Files\Common Files\Digidesign\DAE\Controllers

What happens to the adat I/O in PT when you set the sample rate to 96k on the 1814? Does PT see it as 4 channels, or does the adat I/O just stop working as it does in LE at 96k?
The Digi specs for M-Powered says that it supports SMUX. That means that you should be able to get 4 channels on the ADAT @ 96k, and the regular 8 channels at 44.1 or 48k.
I'm hoping that Digi will give SMUX support to PTLE users. That would add 4 more channels at 96k for my 002r. I really don't do 96k recording, now, but it would be a nice feature to have should I need it occassionally.

make sure you place them in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Digidesign\DAE\Controllers
and don't forget to relaunch pt
Make sure you downloaded the correct file for your version. I would try the latest version for ptle on winXP

it can be a bit confusing on the link i gave. Perhaps you downloaded them for pt and not for ptle.....
rightclick this one http://akdownload.digidesign.com/support/digi/windows/controllers/midicontrollers64.zip and do a save as.
And don't forget to unzip the file.....
