Dear Digidesign - Just wondering if you are considering a strategy of allowing substansial upgrade discounts to Sonar users - if that would be technically feasable.
I use Sonar XL 2.2 and am happy with it - to the point of not bothering with further Sonar updates (can't see the added value vs added drian on desktop resourses). If I could switch over for a minimal cost I would consider this now (pending testing the demo on my DAW config and deteriming if workflow advantages exist).
I like the ability to have portability with studios but really don't want to pay full dollar for the software until I think I will be producing an album I will want pro mixed/mastered.
Might be a valuable strategy to entice folks like me to switch and lock me into the pro tools stream early (I see it as buying into a system - much like if you buy a digital SLR at an entry level you lock into their system for future lens purchases). Otherwise I may just be happy where I am.
