A big thank you to Bob/citysoundman!

Went out and bought the Ozonic and MPPT and it really does work straight outta the box.

Followed Bob's advice about using the drivers from the PT disk and no problems whatsoever.

In fact, On my PB867 the performance is quite alot better than with my Mbox. OK, I'm mainly using it for homebound songwriting/editing/pre-mixing but no hiccups to speak of. And considering I was forced to use a 1026 buffer (and still getting drops) and have now been able to move down to 256 (haven't even tried 128) with no problems makes me kinda happy.

Convertors sound smooth too.

Cheers,

R.

P.S. Too bad it's the 4th version of the software I've had to buy though... :-(

I'm also considering selling my Mbox for such purposes,

Can you run it on the Laptop power only.
I'm looking for a m-audio / firewire solution with true portability.

both my mbox & x-station handle usb power fine.
(though the Mbox perform real bad on my iBook G4 1.2ghz)

Your welcome Ol betsy.

And yes the keyboard is bus-powered! Doesn't need the AC adapter. M-Audio told me they dont recommend using the AC power - they noticed some problems on Macs. Didn't hear what problems he meant though. Now I just have to get a new Ozonic with a working headphone out and I'm set...

Sorry Rock Artist,

Severely late sessions all this week and hadn't really had a chance to look back here.

But like CSM said, bus-powered works great.

I'm still loving this thing.

Using it as a controller for Reason too.

I'm dumping my Mbox. No second thoughts.

CSM, if your using your Ozonic as a controller as well, are you using the M-Audio Enigma software to help/back-up your settings?

I can send information FROM Enigma to the keyboard but whenever I try backing up the settings from the KEYBOARD I keep getting 'timed-out' messages. Hmmm...

Not a major problem as I am also saving my new settings in the keyboards ROM but it would be nice to have a back-up on my computer JUST IN CASE.

You know how these things are... If it isn't saved in AT LEAST 2 places, it ain't saved! :-)

Betsy -
Thanks for the Enigma tip. I had not heard of it. I just downloaded it and I'll check it out.
Any tips?

I am dissapointed that the Ozonic isn't setup to control ProTools. At least there are no presets. Have you given this a try yet?
