Why no ethernet support for my controler?

I would still like to use my ethernet controller with m-powered. I wonder if I borrow an mbox, set up the ehternet controller and then use that preference file in m-powered folder will it work.

There is no support for ethernet controllers in Pro Tools M-Powered, as indicated in the compatibility documents (http://www.digidesign.com/compato/xp/ma/).
