Hi, I'm new to the forum. And want first to introduce myself.
My name is Michael, and I'm from Norway

Next up, my question:
I have a home/semi pro studio. It's based around M-Audio 1010.
But I though of upgrading to pro tools.

I was thinking of Pro Tools LE - 002 rack with Control|8. BUT I have M-audio delta 1010 and Behringer B-Control Fader BCF 2000, which is a 100mm motorized fader controller. As you see, my setup is similar to 002+control|8.
Howevery, can I get my present setup to work with pro tools. Can't see the delta series in the specs.

And yes, I know. No studio should be allowed to have/use Behringer. But it works nice.

Thanks in advanced for all the answers!

-mike-

Try the demo out for size but install the latest M-Audio driver first

http://www.m-audio.com/images/global/drivers/Delta_WDM_5.10.0.5051.exe

Audiophile 192 and 2496 use the same driver.

No. This doesnt work

It claims there is no M-Audio devices. Is there a work around?

It was just anounced on the site today that 6 more interfaces have been approved and are
officially supported with Pro Tools M-Powered. This of course includes the rest of the Delta
series including the 1010. The PCI driver supplied onthe d/l page is old and will not work
with the demo if it is set at 24 bit. Go directly to M audio's site they have a new driver
that should work with the demo at 24 bits.

I own a 1010lt,and I plan on getting a 1010 to use as the main interface and I'll be
word clocking these two bad boys together for more I/O options. If you don't plan on being
too mobile with your setup, I would just go with PT M-Powered and save the money if you
already have a 1010. Then afterward, maybe upgrade to an 002R after you get a feel for
Pro Tools and decide for sure that you like it(believe me you will LOVE it!!!) This way
you will be only spending the money for PTMP, instead of shelling out the full bill for
an 002R.

As for the Beheringer, I believe others have got it to work with PT in HUI emulation mode.
Do a search on the DUC here for it...Again, if it works well enough for you untill you
get the hang of PT, then you could save and get a Command 8 someday and have even more
control. right now it looks like you have the hardware that you are already familiar
with that will work with M powered right outta the box.

I'd love an 002R,but I'm gonna wait untill I have the cash some day. I have yet to use
any kind of control surface with any software, and I'll probably just save and get the C8
someday.

Just joined the DUC myself. Been using the Mbox for a year now and recently got my Delta 1010LT. It's a great day to be M-Powered!

Well. I finally got my 1010lt working. Heres the trick;-
You need to (1) Get the *latest* drivers off the m-audio site.
Then when you start protools, you need to make sure EVERY audio program is off. Winamp, Skype, all of em. I had alot of problems, and they where caused by protools fighting with skype. (Hint to digidesign: How about just using the asio drivers )

AND I also have a BCF2000 and it works a treat.

Heres how you do it. Make sure you have the latest BCF2000 firmware (This stops feedback problems where you end up fighting the faders) Then (you have to do this BEFORE turning on pro tools btw) Turn on with your finger on the button for 'babyhui' mode. If you dont have this mode, then upgrade the firmware (download from behringers site) Once it comes up saying babyhui on the readout (or bhui or something) Then restart it again, then load up protools. In there you will find the controller settings, and just route the midi into and out of a controller and select 'hui' as the controller. Blammo! Instant hui time! It works *perfectly*

Now all I gotta do is find a distributer for protools m-powered in australia. So far no luck The demo is just damn teasing me.

These guys are selling online in Australia so far:

http://www.musiclab.com.au/

Go to Catalogue and look under Digidesign

Pretty pricey though, like everything here.

I've got mine on order from the US. Works out heaps
cheaper but still waiting on confirmation of shipment.

hi again, and thanks for all the answers!

Does my behringer fader work with pro tools?
I have v6.7 available to buy used at this moment, should I just buy it? I get a good price.

Again - thanks!

I believe you would need to enable HUI mode on the Berringer if that is available. Then it can be used as a control surface in Pro Tools. There should be information in the Berringer manual on HUI mode.

The Pro Tools LE and TDM license cannot be resold. It is registered to the hardware. If someone is offerring Pro Tools 6.7 software used, it is illegal:
http://www.digidesign.com/support/cs/reg/

The Pro Tools license is included with Pro Tools core hardware systems and cannot be sold separately (this includes any upgrades to the Pro Tools software). If you sell a core system, the included Pro Tools license then becomes the property of the new owner, and all future update and upgrade rights are transferred as well.

Also, the Pro Tools LE software will not work without a Digi 002, Digi 002 Rack, or Mbox attached to the system.

Good to know, because I begun to doubt why they sold it so cheap.
If I get my hands on their email and name, I surely ship it over to you guys.

What do I need to hook my Delta 1010 up with Pro Tools software?
Do I need a MBox, or are I misstaken?

And by the way, thanks for the answer regarding the behringer positive suprised to see digidesign themself replying at this forum Superb!

You would need Pro Tools M-Powered software to use Pro Tools with the Delta 1010. No Digidesign hardware required.

See the Pro Tools M-Powered section in the Products section:
www.digidesign.com/products (http://www.digidesign.com/products)

And the Pro Tools M-Powered 6.8 for Windows XP section in the Support->Compatibility section:
http://www.digidesign.com/compato/xp/ma/

Lots of info in both of those links, as well as links to more information on the Digidesign and M-Audio websites.

Hey man,

Did you get the BCF2000 working with Pro Tools M-Powered??

I'm trying to get it working but Pro Tools keeps bugging me with the message that it can't communicate with the HUI device. It's quite frustrating. I tried everything. The BCF2000 is in Baby HUI mode, with firmware 1.07 and the latest USB midi drivers. Pro Tools recieves the BCF2000 inputs but the BCF2000 won't receive anything from Pro Tools.
