Hello,
I have quite a few virutal synths and effects. I also have a few midi/usb keyboards.
how do i set up so that when i move a fader or turn a knob on my keyboard the faders and knobs on my virtual synths also move?
thank you.
ps. for anyone that didn't know, i don't know any other program that won't allow this.

It all depends on the instrument in question and the controller in question. Controlling MIDI CC in Pro Tools is very similar to automation. It includes the standard set of MIDI CC controllers; volume, pan, pitch bend, aftertouch (mono), and MIDI controllers, 0–127. Most times, the plugin will have a set CC for a particular control, and you may have to set up those parameters to be controlled. Most controllers also usually already have their controls set for certain CC values, but allow you to change them for your needs.

More info about CC events can be found on Page 426 of the Ref Guide (http://akwww.digidesign.com/support/docs/70/Pro%20Tools%20Reference%20Guide.pdf#page=438)
How each plugin deals and assigns CC events to controls is up to the plugin, and will be covered in their documentation. Same with the controller.

If you're using Xpand!, Right-click on a control and select 'learn'.
Then simply move the controller you want to assign it to and hey presto!
I believe this feature is only available on certain optimised plug ins (Hybrid should also have it I reckon).
I'd be interested to know what other instruments work with it though and it would be great if it became a universal feature - it makes things so easy!
