I'm hooked to Paramount's DD system for this movie i'm working on and it keeps tanking.
It goes for a while on these large video files and then says "Failed"
It never tries to resume. What's up with that?
This in on XP Pro

Below is a log of some of them
I've gotten 7 Failures and 4 Success's so far
if it makes it past the first 20-30% mark it seems to work.

any ideas?

Wow!!
Great Tech support here!
not one response from the company
Glad I didn't pay $8,000 for the system

I reset my routers and thought that fixed it, but it's still doing it.

So I switched to FOLDERSHARE instead.
Works perfect and resumes like a champ if you ever get disconnected or have to re-boot
and it's FREE

I've had a few problems with that, but nothing like 60% of the time. I have had the client unexpectedly quit a few times, though, which is even more maddening than "failing," although the outcome is the same.

I was also recently working with someone downloading from my server and his client software would start downloading and acting as though it had finished in less than a second but, obviously, the files weren't actually downloaded. Rebooting his computer seemed to fix the problem.

Is anyone else having the client software fail and/or crash? Are there any known issues with the client software that are scheduled for fixes? I'd love to get to the bottom of this.

If you are having problems with DigiDelivery, it's best to email tsdigidelivery@digidesign.com for support.

I happen to know that Paramount may have particular issues with their network. You should contact the system administrator at Paramount (or whomever you're working with there) to see if they can help you with this problem.

Thanks, Gordon

While I can see sending an email, by not posting the solution here anyone with this problem (including me) has to wait for an email return from Digi. You work there. Is there some reason Digi would not post the answer here and it not, is this simply a client to client support area?

maybe because Digi sold the product off to Aspera?

jdeas -

Craig is correct - Aspera now owns DigiDelivery and the reason Gordon posted what he did at the time was that we did not have a tech monitoring the DUC full time and a direct email to tech support for the DigiDelivery would get a reply usually within a few hours.

Also, I think he did give the solution - or rather the reason for the problem:

I happen to know that Paramount may have particular issues with their network.

At the time this was occurring we were working with Paramount and their ISP to help their ISP make the necessary configuration changes to their network to get DigiDelivery working properly.

If you do need assistance with a DigiDelivery server, please contact Aspera directly:

Effective September 21, 2007, Digidesign no longer provides Technical Support & Service for the DigiDelivery product line: Aspera Inc. To Acquire DigiDelivery Product Line press release (http://www.asperasoft.com/about/news/aspera-acquires-digidelivery-2007-09-07.html).
