Looking to buy Eleven Le today do I need an Ilok?

I am ready to purchase Eleven Le been saving for a long time.
I will write my reasons of getting this plugin and my experiences on another post but my question now is...
Do I need an Ilok to run the plugin.?

Also I plan on using this plugin on my current laptop, but I plan on getting a new laptop in 3 months. What do I do then?

Yeah, you will need a iLok. You can buy them from your local retailer, the iLok online store, the Digi Store or Ebay.

The Ilok holds the actual authorization code and can be plugged to any computer running Pro Tools. All you will need to do with you new laptop is install Pro Tools and Eleven and plug in your iLok and your off to the races.

Or if you wanted to mix at another studio all you would need to do is install Eleven on the machine and plug in the iLok.

Thats the beauty of in that the iLok is completely portable way of authorizing things.

Ok, so I cannot use the plugin unless I register it with ILok?

Also I have Mpower which comes with an Ilok.
But my only problem is I am thinking about selling my mpower one day and would not want to put the authorization on it for that reason.

Is there a way if I have to sell Mpower and the mpower Ilok can I transfer my eleven authorization to a new I lok?

Ok I got the Eleven Le.
I installed it and loaded up pro tools mpower but now it is saying to input the authorization code and sign up for Ilok. I cannot use this plugin unless I register.

I bought another Ilok but did not open it yet.
I am afraid that if I have 2 Iloks connected at once.
(the other one being the mpower Ilok dongle)
That the authorization will transfer to the mpower Ilok dongle and not my new Ilok.

Any way I am thinking of just putting the authorization on the mpower dongle anyway and bringing back the new Ilok to the store to save those head aches.

I heard that in the future I can transfer authorizations through Iloks for a fee.
Is this true? How much is that fee?

So what do I do?
The Ilok that came with Mpower is just plug and play. I never registered it.
How do I make sure when I type in my registration that the authorization goes on my Mpower Ilok under my account.

What are the steps?
I don't want to lose my authorization to this plugin, because I plan on transfering it in the future when I sell my mpower system with mpower dongle to a new Ilok dongle.

Can some one with experience please help me ASAP.

You can freely move licenses between iLoks registered to your account. There's a $25 fee for moving licenses to another account, i.e. selling a license to someone else.

All you need to do is

A) got to iLok .com and set up an user account.

B) Download and install the latest ILok driver and Client software.

C) Reboot for good measure.

D) Insert you Ilok and choose Sycronise, this will also let you veiw what on your iLok currently.

E) Register (http://www.digidesign.com/index.cfm?langid=100&navid=56&itemid=22828) the plug ins authorization code with Digi, they will send a authorization code to ILok.com and both Ilok and Digi will email you telling you that you have new auths to download.

F) Insert you Ilok and log Into iLok.com using you new user name. you will be greeted with the message you have new authorizations and follow the onscreen instructions to download it to your ILok.

It may seem like a pain but most of these step such as creating the account only have to be done once.
