As a long time Line6 Pod/Gearbox head I wanted to try another cool guitar emulation that works with TDM. I was able to buy the Waves GTR3 TDM software only product from http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/dutchmuzik for his best offer price of $239.

So far I've gotten some really tasty sounds out of GTR3 that are more pleasing to my ears in terms of quality thank my Pod/Variax setup.

I really wanted to get Eleven but it's more expensive and does less than Waves GTR3.

My humble recommendation is, if you haven't tried GTR3 - give it a shot. You can't go wrong adding another tool to your plugin arsenal. It sounds great - plus has some great stomp effects.

I don't understand why GTR3 isn't more popular - an underestimated tool in my opinion.

Here's a list of what you get with Waves GTR3...

I plan on picking it up next time it goes on sale. for 250 bucks or so, just being able to have those stomps as rtas are worth it! How do the amps sound in comparison to eleven. Honestly?

I think they sound really good. I tried the eleven demo and I think the GTR3 sounds are comparable.

IMO Waves GTR3 was the best until Eleven came out. Now GTR3 sounds a little too thin in comparison. I go back and forth all the time to see what works best in the mix and Eleven has been the winning choice each time. I also have Line 6 PODXT, Amp Farm and Amplitube 2 to choose from.

I can't get Waves GTR3 to sit in the mix the way Eleven (or a real amp) does, that’s not to say it's not worth having, it’s a useful tool that works well in some genres (some of the clean tones are cool) & some of the FX pedals are really good... But for me Eleven marks a new breakthrough that should raise the game of amp sim realism... GTR4 could be very interesting... :-) or not... :(

Yeah there were a couple of post were folks mentioned doing that and I believe also using the Line6 plugs for stomps. I think someone mentioned there is a light version of GTR that has all of the stomps at a cheaper price. I'm on vacation in a week or so and will be looking into this.

Now all we need is Digi to model "StompFarm"

One of the things I like about Eleven is that it does one thing really well and thats sounding like a actual amp.

There is definitely room for another plug in that models pedals as well as Eleven models amps. The more I think about though I would prefer to NOT to see them packaged together so the each plug in could retain its focus.

I have to agree. give us more amps in eleven. Maybe develop a stomp plugin of the same quality down the line (hint to digi........CROSSGRADE!!)

The DigiZine has some really awesome tricks in it for Eleven. You can get much more amp sounds by mixing more than 1 eleven, using Reverb and EQ in conjunction and getting creative.
Check it out! http://www.digidesign.com/index.cfm?navid=6

But yes, more amps and presets wouldn't hurt anyone!
Eleven is the bomb, and sound quality is bar none.

I'd love to have Eleven TDM but it's just too expensive at $450 to $595. Heck, it should at least be price competitive with GTR3 shouldn't it? I mean, we're talkin' Waves here.
