I had Eleven for a few days and I have to say I do not like it at all. Thin, noisy as hell, and unreal sounding in my mixes. Great River into Distressor into PT. I have been so underwhelmed by all guitar amp plug-ins since amp farm until now.........I got Vintage Sound Room and it blew me away!! I was actually able to use the sounds and they were great. Then tonight I got GTR 3 and man that is a mother F er!! Sounds AMAZING and I am happy as a dog without fleas. Love Digi for a lot of awesome products but Eleven gets two thumbs way the frick down.

hmmm. Never heard of vintage sound room before your post. Looks pretty cool, I will check out the demo. I did demo waves GTR3 and wasnt impressed, very sterile sounding. What I like about eleven is it ISNT sterile sounding as all, and as such not intended to be an end all sound like these other 2 products and every other amp sim out there. It takes some work to get eleven sitting well but it yeilds the most realistic sound in the end IMO.

Have you tried ReValver with a VST Wrapper
Another winner
I like all the Plugs But still miss the Real sound of an Amp!!!

All the Plugs are OK if used Right!!!!
I also Like Nomad Factory's Rock Amp Legends Sim!!!
Still not a huge fan of the sound you get with a rhythm track with any Plug!!!
I miss that Tight Low End Chug!!!!

I think you mean Vintage Amp Room by Softube. Yes, it's definitely among the best. Metal Amp Room is also very nice.

I use GTR 3 all the time and love it. Since GTR 3 I don't even use my boutique amps anymore. Bought Eleven anyway just for some occasional fast and easy contrast from GTR 3 sounds. With its uniformity of controls from amp model to amp model GTR 3 is much easier to use than Eleven or any of the other modelers that insist on using a different user interface for each amp. I can also make it sound great to my ears. But then, I have zero interest in trying to precisely duplicate the sound of a particular vintage amp.

GTR 3 is still blowing me away. Truly I think people must be joking about Eleven I really think it sounds awful. I A/B Eleven with GTR 3 and Vintage Amp Room and Eleven was always my least favorite. I even asked my wife what she thought and not being of musical mind she said Eleven sounded "Tinty" I agree. Nothing beats a real amp but GTR 3 has come darn close. I play through a Bogner Shiva with Keeley Comp into a Keeley modified Tube Screamer. That is a great sound if I dare say so myself. Eleven was a joke compared but you guessed it GTR 3 was very close. Hey Stefan LOVE your video's and your website is awesome. You have turned me onto some great things even after all of these years rockin' PT's THANK YOU!!!!

Cool thanks for the suggestion. I too have never heard of this plug-in.
But I do know many people, some very famous are doing full albums with only Eleven and you gotta use whatever works for you and you're situation.
I'm downloading all Soft tubes stuff now, looks interesting. Cheers.

Im Convinced Eleven sounds the best...
after working with many vintage amps and knowing particularly AC30s and Twin Reverbs inside and out....
ive found that Eleven sounds EXACTLY like the real thing...
Guitar Rig sounds really thin and fake...and amplitube only seems to sound by it self...
but eleven sound great. Its prefect.
Wave GTR3 sounds a little stale to my ear. And vintage amp room sounds a little muddy...
but i do like the metal amp room....but i like eleven better.

It's a little sad that Softube isn't more well known. They do a lot of work for other companies most people don't know about as well. I'm trying out their Tube Delay and Spring Reverb like crazy now for a review.

I bought Eleven. Then I bought GTR3. It's hard work trying to spur the economy but my stimulus package revolves around my studio. Yes, I said "package." :-)
Seriously though... my favorite way to work is to place a GTR3 stomp box on an insert and on the next insert is Eleven for the amp. Liking this setup a lot.
If I could only have one or the other it would be GTR3 because the stomp boxes are fun and inspiring and Eleven without stomps isn't that exciting. I tried using my real world pedal board before Eleven but it lacks recall which is necessary because I work in a few genres and use more than a few static settings. And I've become too lazy for written notes.

I like Eleven for clean to crunchy stuff, Vintage Amp Room also sounds very nice, but different; but so far for me the only workable substitute (soft or hardware sim) for modern metal high gain amps is Softube's Metal Amp Room.
I DI my guitar with a TL Audio tube pre into the plug, and then placed Ozone3 after it. Boy oh boy...the realism is unbelievable. Together with Softube's Acoustic Feedback added occasionally, I'm just as happy (if not happier) as playing the real thing.:-)
