... uses Guitar Rig 3?

I always jump at the oppourtunity to read Threads about the various Amp Sim softs that are available. I always like to hear what people say. It seems most people on the DUC use Eleven or Amplitude. I hear mixed things about both. It seems like most people perfer the Eleven.

I wondering if anyone on here has compared their Amp Sim soft to Guitar Rig 3. I'm just looking for some opinions, thoughts, poop talking and such.

Let me clarify, I'm not talking about Guitar Rig 2. I have used it, and the difference between Rig 2 and Rig 3 is night and day.

Guitar Rig 3... anyone???

Thanks so much!

For what it's worth, I demoed Guitar rig 3, Eleven, and Ampltube 2 around the same time. I loved eleven and I'll be getting it with one of the toolkit upgrades. My problem with Guitar rig 3 and amplitube was that the amps kind of compress the sound a little bit and lose a little nuance. Even the speaker cabinets did this (I ran the eleven amps through the other brand's speaker cabinets). I liked mainly the clean amps on Guitar Rig 3. Amplitube's effects (pedals and rack) totally rock and I bought it mainly for that, not only for guitar but other things too. So I liked guitar rig 3 the least (nothing against Native Instruments, I have 7 of their products). But that's just my opinion.

Thanks for the feedback.

I'm waiting a little longer on PT8, but I stoked to mess around with Eleven light, and will have the full version when I got to MPTK 2. Looking forward to that big time.

Anyone else have any feedback or insite?

Thanks so much!

I have noticed that the waves GTR plugins tend to compress the audio a little and that it also seems to take away the air from the audio too.

But that said it really works for me in a lot of circumstances especially if I am looking to acheive the more modern sounds.

Amplitude seems great for the more 60's and 70's theme for me and Guitar Rig 3 I never really liked.

I think that the ante has been upped though and Aplitude may benefit from an update as I have heard what Eleven is capable of and and it's not to kiss Digi's arse but I dont think that Amplitube can't hold a candle to it.

The sonic quality of Eleven is second to none and for that reason I would stick with it for most tasks - and also keep using the Waves GTR3 pack as that is really good for effects and the modern sound for me.

I have both GTR3 and Eleven. I have been using Eleven with GTR3's stomp boxes with excellent results.

At the time Eleven was in Beta I demoed all but GTR and I really liked the way Eleven "Played" it was more responsive and had better pick attack at the same buffer levels-more like standing in the room in front of the amp Vs playing in the control room. I've owned quite a few of the amps Eleven purports to model and the emulations are excellent. Having owned a bunch of this stuff I've always felt that the Guitar rigs, Amplitudes etc tended to sound WAY to effected to me. There is no ONE amp sim out there they all have there strengths. Eleven is my desert isle amp sim.

I like GR3 alot, its probably the most "fun" to use out of them all with the best GUI. Waves GTR to me sounds the most musical out of them all. Eleven has its place too. Amlitube is the only one I have little use for.
