Is is just me, or does all the pick attack get squished away with this amp sim?

joeydego,

I just did some testing on this with the Eleven Twin model and my '69 Twin using a cab with Vintage 30's. I put an SM 57 on the cab and used that selection on the sim. There was no discernable loss of transients or pick attack compared to the real thing. The tests used clean settings and some were done with an Xotic AC 1 pedal in front of both real and sim for blues type tone. I didn't do any testing with anything close to metal sounds because overdriven amps compress so much.

You may have mentioned it before but I don't remember what you plug your guitar into? Going straight into my 002r just sucks the life out of direct guitar. Even though I have some pretty high end mic pre's with very good DI's my wife got me one of those Waves/PRS GTR interfaces for Christmas and I have to say its pretty good for DI guitar with sims.

Hope this helps,
Greg

I notice it only on hi gain type things, like the pick attack isnt there anymore.

You are looking at waveforms? You aren't listening?

Havn't noticed a los of attack, but for some situations Waves gtr3 is a better choice for us.

I find GTR3 more musical, and has better definition. My only complaint on gtr3 is the volume of the different sims varies wildly.
