Anyone else getting the file CoreMIDI.framework in the dock? Not able to open it and it has to be force quit when restarting.

Yep. PT 803 PR DOES NOT WORK AT ALL
8.0.3pr freezes at "Setting Up Midi" phase of application launch.
The only way to get out of this is to perform a Force Quit of PT.
When that is done, something else interesting happens. "CoreMIDI.framework" launches and begins bouncing in the dock. Then the CoreMIDI dialog box pops up. When you hit "Ignore" the dialog box goes away and CoreMIDI.framework launches again. Then the CoreMIDI dialog box pictured below pops up again. When you hit "Ignore" the dialog box goes away and CoreMIDI.framework launches again. etc etc etc. This creates an endless loop.
I have been running PTLE 8.0.1 on top of 10.6.1 for about a week and have been running very glitch-free. The 8.0.3PR was installed directly onto of the 801.

i assume you use a 002 or 002r ??
(--- if not you can simply delete DigiDioMidiDriver.plugin vers 8.0.3 -- )
its the DigiDioMidiDriver.plugin vers 8.0.3
if you extract DigiDioMidiDriver.plugin vers 8.0.1 from the
previous update you'll be fine.
just drag the older vers into your library/audio/midi drivers/ folder.
btw : its in the Application Files LE.pkg.. click on it.. show contents..
extract Archive.pax.gz and there it is.
voila !! smooth sailing with Snowy

Nice one Dirk, worked a treat!
Dirk. You saved my ass. That CoreMidi.Framework had me doing all sorts of nonsense. I nearly formated and reloaded my system. I was blaming Logic for it. Thanks man.

This worked! And the crashing between loading stuff in Logic and Pro Tools stopped. At least it seems so for now.
If anyone is still confused just to clarify:
http://www.digidesign.com/index.cfm?navid=48&itemid=39491
Download this update, even if you are on Snow Leopard and PT 8.0.3pr. Mount that update. Drag that file to the desktop. (installer pro tools updater LE). Show contents of this... Within that should be Application Files LE.pkg Show contents of that... That's where the archive.pax.gz should be. Then you should navigate to library, audio, MIDI drivers and replace the .plugin file with the version in your current library.
Thanks again for those who shared this!

CoreMIDI.framework on the dock
Got rid of this problem with the new 10.6.2 combo update no more dock bounce after that!! The single 10.6.2 install did not do the job; you need to install the new combo update for this to work:::
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL959
ps: Digi needs to release something soon because if their waiting for snow 10.6.4 to be released no matter what!!! apple's new OS will still be buggy so let's see if digi is willing to move forward without a stable apple OS, because if they do wait for apple us dedicated digi users will wait forever because the fix from apple will never come::: so digi as to find a way to create a rock solid soft without waiting for apple to do the same!!! apple is on a bad route right now so let's just see what's digi's response:: the next full moon is dec 2.!!! So let's give digi one more chance to battle apple.

If I have a 002 can I delete that file and just do without midi functionality, or will it stop the whole thing working altogether. I only get this crash when using Logic 9, PT works fine (although it seems to bounce in the dock for a few seconds before opening lately, when it used to load up in a flash).
Thanks,
T

if you don't use any midi with your 002 you can simply delete the file in HAL.
if you need it.. you have to replace it with vers 801.. or.. i haven't tried that..
install the latest snowy COMBO update..like decribed above

I had the CoreMIDI.framework problem when I first started PT 8.0.3 after installation. So I tried to fix it by replacing digidioMidiDriver 8.0.3 with the 8.0.1 version. Since then, The CoreMidi.framework problem is gone but I don't get any midi signal from my midi keyboard to my m-box 2 pro and starting PT takes about 5 minutes. I installed PT 8.0.3 update again. Still same situation.
Anybody has a idea what's going on?
Cheers

Im sure this has all ready been posted.. but the DigiDioMidiDriver.plugin is also causing Logic Pro to crash. If you remove that file Logic works great as does PT so DOWN with DigiDioMidiDriver.....

Okay after installing 8.0.3pr I had this exact problem. The first thing I tried was to simply remove DigiDioMidiDriver.plugin completely. While this fixed the CoreMIDI.framework not responding issue, the MIDI on my Mbox2 no longer functioned at all. I found this surprising as there is a separate DigidesignMbox2MIDI.plugin that I assumed wouldn't be dependent on DigiDioMidiDriver.plugin.
I then tried Dirk Reinking's suggestion. I extracted DigiDioMidiDriver.plugin from 8.0.1 using the method C.Bledsoejr described. I launched Logic Pro 9 again and was pleased to see that everything seemed to be working perfectly! However, upon checking my system.log I noticed many errors from the DigiDioMidiDriver.plugin (they look like version mismatch errors to me). After using Logic for some time I experienced frequent crashes. It seems using DigiDioMidiDriver.plugin version 8.0.1 does NOT completely fix the problem (at least it doesn't with 8.0.3pr. Untested with 8.0.3 final release).
Then the final version of 8.0.3 was released. I eagerly downloaded it expecting to find the prerelease problems completely solved. I was disappointed. The final release of 8.0.3 experienced exactly the same problem as the prerelease. Congrats on debugging your software digidesign...
I was on the verge of trying onepercentfree's 10.6.2 combo update solution. But instead, on a whim, I tried removing DigiDioMidiDriver.plugin AND DigidesignFireWireMIDI.plugin. I opened Logic and this time the MIDI on my Mbox2 functioned! I checked my system.log.. no errors!
Conclusion:
Installing the final release of 8.0.3 and then removing both DigiDioMidiDriver.plugin and DigidesignFireWireMIDI.plugin creates a stable fully functioning CoreMIDI system for Mbox2 users.

This core MIDI driver problem is also causing GarageBand audio to fail.

Hello,
I'm not on Snow Leopard but on Leopard (10.5.8). And I run a DIGI 002R.
I update PT to 8.0.3 cs1 and I've got exactly the same problem with the CoreMIDI.framework.
Then I did the Dirk Reinking tip >
its the DigiDioMidiDriver.plugin vers 8.0.3
if you extract DigiDioMidiDriver.plugin vers 8.0.1 from the
previous update you'll be fine.
just drag the older vers into your library/audio/midi drivers/ folder.
btw : its in the Application Files LE.pkg.. click on it.. show contents..
extract Archive.pax.gz and there it is.
voila !! smooth sailing with Snowy
have fun, The problem now is that I don't have anymore MIDI in or out on the 002R...
In Pro Tools, Max/MSP or Ableton Live.
An idea to help me?
Thanks

Ok,
Finally, to test, I downgraded to PT8 and after upgraded to 8.0.1 cs1. And no more problems with CoreMIDI.framework. Logical.
I was really afraid to downgrade because I had save sessions with 8.0.3.
But I can open this sessions with 8.0.1 cs1. Weird..
