I installed Snow Leopard a few days ago (I know, at my own risk). I've installed 10.6.1, and when I saw that there was a pre-release of 8.0.3, I downloaded it. However, when I tried to install it, I received an error message about halfway through that says "Could not install some files on "/"; please contact software manufacturer." Yet when I look at the Pro Tools application properties, it says 8.0.3pr. Now my Mbox 2 mini isn't turning on, and I'm assuming this is because of the failed install.
When I initially installed Pro Tools, I had to create a separate user account because of receipt writing problems, so I'm afraid to uninstall and re-install on this new account for fear of the same thing happening. Does anyone have any advice on how I can get a clean install of 8.0.3pr? I have a feeling it would fix the Mbox problem. I ran DiskUtility and everything appeared to be OK. Thanks!
Mac OS 10.6.1
Macbook, 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2 GB RAM
Pro Tools 8.0.3pr (sort of, halfway installed as mentioned above)
