View Full Version : DAE Error 1 - No solution 8.0.3PR

Been using 8.0.3 since the day it came out.

Today, I suddenly could not import audio, got the DAE Error 1 window.

Out of blue, I could not open a single existing PT file but could create a new one.

Did EVERYTHING up to uninstalling and absolutely nothing has resolved the problem. This is the very 1st issue I've ever had that I could not find a workaround for.

Back to 8.0.1 I go. No big deal, I really didn't notice any difference with 8.0.3.

By the way, DigiTest also does/did not work with 8.0.3PR.

I'm running it now in 8.0.1 with no problems whatsoever.

I have exactly the same problem with 8.0.3pr.
I've uninstalled 8.0.3pr, reinstalled PT8 and 8.0.3pr, repaired Disk Permissions, deleted all the preference files and the databases folder on each drive.

One thing I've noticed - When 8.03pr opens, it does NOT create a new database folder on any drive - even the internal boot drive.
It does create the ddb files in Application Support.
I wonder whether the lack of database folders is causing the DAE Error 1.

Thanks for your help.

I saw the same thing, so I went in to the workspace and created databases. I then tried dragging and dropping a sound file into PT, there was no error, but the files also never finished importing (no wave file drawn.)

Obviously and unfortunately Digi have their work cut out for them.

Regardless, I'm back on 8.0.1 and it does work perfectly so I'm not having any issues now.

Weird that the version for SL does not work in SL and version that is NOT for SL, works find in SL. :)

This is normal - due to the numerous complaints we received about having Database folders on every drive, we moved to a new model that doesn't do that any longer.

As for the problems - can you tell me more about the drives and audio files you're trying to import? Does drag and drop work or have you tried any other method of import?

Have you tried a new Admin account? An uninstall/reinstall might also clear up the problem. It's a strange one, to be sure...I'll see if I can find anyone in our testing dept. that may have come across it and if there may be another solution...

Hi Digi,

I tried aif, wav and mp3 files at both 44.1 and 48. I created a new session and attempted to import session data from files that would not open. It would work, but after closing and reopening that same PT file, I would get the DAE error 1. I would drag and drop from the system HD and my PT Files internal HD. I also opened up DrumCore 3 and tried to import audio from that...same error.

I did not create a new Admin account.

I did a complete uninstall/reinstall. Same problem.

Drives, all internal, Main HD, Pro Tools Files HD and Libraries HD.

8.0.1 is working perfectly so I'll stay there until PT for SL is ready for prime time.

I created databases with workspace and then could import without the error, but the files did not show wave forms or play. Opening up that same session in 8.0.1, the files were there, acted normally and played normally.

I suspect the entire issue is somewhere in the new database scheme.

Thanks,

Ron

Thanks for the info on that.

I do have Logic 9.0.2 installed - could that be causing the problem?

I've tried doing a fresh install of Snow Leopard on an external drive (without Logic) - PT 8.0.3pr worked OK.

I also installed the Snow Leopard 10.6.1 and iTunes 9.0.1 updates on this test drive - PT 8.0.3pr still works.
