Hi,

I've recently set up Pro Tools 8.0.3 on my Mac Pro and have suffered many problems using the software.

During playback and when running with 8 Processors running at 90% i receive this message:
You are running out of CPU power. Remove some RTAS plug-ins or increase the CPU Usage Limit in the Playback Engine dialog.
(-9128)

I have the buffer size at 1024 when i receive this message.

When i attempt to playback i sometimes also receive about half a second of audio and the play and stop buttons flash.

The session files i deal with are usually made up of Addictive Drums, GuitarRig 2.0 and the Ampeg plug in.

here is my current set up;
Mac Pro,2.66 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon Processor, 3GB 1066 MHz DDR3 Memory. Lacie 320GB Firewire 400 Drive, Pro Tools M Powered 8.0.3 running on Snow Leopard. M Audio Project Mix I/O Interface.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have frequently tried deleting the settings from the preferences menu but have had no success.

Most likely, one or more of your plugins is not updated to run properly on Snow Leopard.

Besides checking you plugins you should set your playback engine to seven processors.

i've tried running it on different processor settings with no luck :(

i'll try some sessions without the plug ins and hope for the best.
i'd never of thought out of date plug ins could cause the whole pro tools system to crash though. :S
