I am looking to make a full blown Pro Tools system purchace very soon. I was looking to buy a pair of 18.2 GB Quantum Atlas III dirves. They are a hair cheaper than the Seagates, but they are not on the list of compatible drives. The specs make them seem like they would work. Can anyone tell me if they will work, or if you have tried them? Also, can someone recommend a card to go with them? My computer that I will be using is a Power Mac 7500 (200MHz 604e, 1 MB Level2 Cache, 128 MB RAM). Should I be concerned about my other drives as far as running the actual Pro Tools software? I currently have a simple 1 GB Fireball inside (came with Mac) and a 2.1 GB IBM Ultrastar ES external.
