I posted a message earlier about issues with transferring files between NT and Mac systems. But I'm still specifically wondering what's the best peripheral option for transfering sessions back and forth. I have a CD-R and a Syjet at home for my Macintosh. Can I just bring either (both are SCSI) unit and hook it up to my IBM Intellistation at work? What is the process for that on Windows? Add / Remove hardware? How does that work, and is it a difficult process, given that I will be hooking and un-hooking the drive very often?

Finally, does anyone generally have an ideal way of transferring sessions back and forth between NT and Mac?

Thanks in advance!

I would reccommend the Kingston removable carrier system and install a recieving frame either externally or internally both options available and mount a drive or 2 in carriers. If you then use the hot swap option you will be able to move them from Mac to PC and back at will. Just use the necessary mount command once the drive is plugged in and off you go. If you don't have the hot swap option then you will need to shut down before removing/inserting drives. Also you will need the utility that allows the NT PC to read Mac drives (comes with Protools) then it works perfectly. We took a session that been worked on a Mac and opened it on aPC did some changes and saved it then moved it back to the Mac and opened it again and carrid on. Truely cross platform. Well done team.
