adaptec 3940 + blue mac ;=((

Hi all!

I have a bleu mac G3/350, system HD ultra-ata and adaptec Pover Domain AHA3940UWDPI MAC. MacOs was 8.51 and 8.6. When I powering
my computer on, I see a green screen and arrow (mouse), and nothing... Firmware of 3940 is unknown, I have an update to 3.0,
but I can't to start computer with plugged
adaptec. Anybody know how to be?

Vadim,

It sounds like your 3940 does not have the right firmware revision. You must have version 4.1, which is Open Firmware compliant, to function with the B&W. The update is available on the Adaptec website.

You may need to update your card on another Mac before installing it in the B&W.

Keep in mind that the only SCSI accelerator we recommend at this time for Pro Tools on the B&W G3 is the ATTO ExpressPCI-DC.

We're working with Adaptec to acheive compatibility with Pro Tools, and should have news sometime soon, though I'm not sure when.
