Removable canister with ProTools ?

I just wonder, what is the best and safest way to work with removable drives. We have several Mix+ systems with Atto Dual Channel Barracuda s and HDT driver.I found an option in Atto´s Express ProTools software saying "canister (Pseudo-Removable). Anyone working with the Atto driver(extension) and ProTools
