Pro Control fader does not move!

I have just set up a ProControl board with 2 expansion boards. 1 (one) fader channel on 1 (one) of the expansion boards is not responding to automation movements! I did get the promt at the first start-up to download the newer version of Firmware, but chose no because I thought I needed an internet connection which I did not have. I should have read the manual!! Is this really the cause of my 1(one) fader/channel not moving or registering. Please tell me what is wrong!

First,Pro Tools ver 5.0.1 go to the setups/peripherals/ethernet controllers(or Pro Control ver 5.0) then disable "enable"
then re-enable for the software to scan for
pro control, re-assign PC main( fader packs ) and click ok, at the prompt run the firmware update.
After that, ( if Pro Control fader doesnt respond, go to (main unit) utilities/test
fader/recal (recalibrate) ok. That should bring the fader back on line. If not let me
know.
