PT free on iBook?

The iBook is not listed as compatible and I realize it doesn't have a sound in port, but can you run PT free on an iBook for audio playback & MIDI sequencing?

I installed and opened it successfully on my iBook/300 last night. Didn't have time to try any sessions, but I'll let you know. Seems to be alright.

re i book & pt free, am having trouble finding a usb audio interface that will be reliable. have read loads of reviews, of different types Roland , etc but all the reviews , seem very sceptical as to whether they are any good. also, there is huge disagreement over whether usb can support audio reliably or no. I know someone who is using a video capture card with a powerbook thru usb, and it's fine, that's more demanding,than audio, so what goes on?, is it the usb system, or just the 3rd party drivers that are at fault?.
if anyone is running an i book with an interface, that works fine I would really like to hear about it.

here's the deal...iBooks have slow drives. I got a new one with a 5400 rpm drive in it. Then i have to worry about getting audio in...best soloution is the roland UA-30. Got it. Now I need a fast drive to playback and record. since the UA-30 is on my USB port I have firewire left. Ordered a firewire drive today that runs at 7200 RPM. got it from the people at ezq.com. Hopefully this is gonna work. unfortunately though the drive is not real small, one of those pocket drives. none of those little firwire drives run over 5400 RPM.

Can't seem to find any on the roland site.
Tascam also have an interface US-480. Anyone
know anything about it?
Does anyone recomend a hard drive for the
ibook w/ptfree?
