Don't see an option to run @48K. Only 16 or 24 bit. Why??
Have a G3400, no additional hardware.

Same here, I wonder if this is regulated by the Mac? Anyone w/ another sound card able to do 48K? I beleive the Mac built in sound is limited to 44.1.

Am In wrong, or did ProTools 4.3.1. Powermix support 48k under sound manager?
Right Now I can open up a 48k session in ProTools FREE that was created elsewhere on a TDM System. Any subsequent NEW sessions I create in ProTools FREE are being set to 48k in Session Setup, but I am getting a "Could not complete the 'Import Audio...' command because of a program error." when I try to import a 48k soundfile. BTW, it lists this 48k soundfile as a 44.1kHz file in the Import Audio Dialog Box.
Have we discovered an insidous bug???

Peak Bias uses Sound Manager and it imports 48khz files and plays them back without conversion. Quicktime supports 48khz and any app that uses quicktime also supports 48khz..eg Final Cut Pro.
The Sound Manager of course supports 48khz I have looked through the Apple Sound Manager Developer white papers.
Digi must have disabled this functionality......
Will there be Protools 5.1 Free in the new future with 48khz support?? This is esential when trying to use Final Cut Pro, and Editing Audio Files in ProTools on a PowerBook G3....There seems like no other way. Sample Rate conversion is just not acceptable.

Im back to quote the Quicktime 4 API Documentation on Sound Manager.
"The Sound Manager version 3.0 supports 16-bit stereo audio samples with sample rates up to 64[bleep]kHz, thereby allowing your application to produce CD-quality sound. "
Digidesign Please bring back 48khz Sessions to ProTools 5 Free for PowerBook users trying to edit Audio from Final Cut Pro!!!
