I have a Powerbook G3 Wallstreet 250 MHZ.... I know there are two RAM slots in this Powerbook.... I upgraded the one right underneath the keyboard... does anyone know if it is possible to also upgrade the 2nd RAM slot? I dont even know where it is, if it is possible....I wouls like to run Protools Free, but right now with only 96MB, i cant....
Mac gurus, Please help...
thanks

Are you sure it wont work? Today I had it running on a 96meg iMac simultaneously with Koblo Studio! And the Windows version worked (kinda) on a stuffed up PC which had only 64megs of memory instead of the "required" 128megs...

well Protools does open, but pretty quickly i get the Finder message "There is not enough memory to complete this opertion, please try closing some windows or quitting an application..."
I have a slimmed down ext set, but it still doesnt seem like enough.... Either way , I want to upgrade the RAM. The problem is that I just put a 64 MB chip in, and I want to add more without having to pull out and waste this chip....
Thanks
Again, any ideas?

You can upgrade, the other RAM chipset goes under the one you just installed. It's not that hard, the directions will come with the RAM. Actually, now that I think about it, it was a pain in the booty. But you can do it. Use the force, Luke! And a hammer!!

upgrading ram on a PB is a bit of work, but is feels good, like you were just working on the space station.....cause the parts are so small and you feel like if you drop some sweat in there its gonna self destruct....hehe. pop out the keyboard, remove the screws of the heat shield, then remove the screw in the heatsink from the proccessor, now gently wiggle while pulling up on the plastic tab on the proccessor card.....be careful, i tugged the plastic tab off the card when i did this and had to mcGuyver my way out....(took some guitar heavypicks and pryed it out, this is not an osha approved method, so please be careful) luckily it all stuck back to gether give or take.....At least i might never have to do this again, since i stuck a single 512 into the bottom slot and the 128 is on the top easy load slot...
have fun.
