Well, I finally got PTF working nicely. Here's some advice:
1) Before you install, run Apple Disk First Aid.
2) Run a diagnostic/repair program like TechTool.
3) Optimize the hard drive you'll use. Pro Tools doesn't like fragmented hard drives.
4) Run the documents installer first.
5) Read the Quick Start pdf on exactly how to install. Follow the instructions.
