PT free & QT 5???

does anybody knows if i can use PT free with QT 5 public preview???

I haven't tried it, but QT5 works with PT5.0.1tdm, and QT works with PTfree so I would assume that it works just fine.

First and foremost, we do not recommend using the QuickTime 5.0a5 preview with any version of Pro Tools. There are too many reported bugs, which is to be expected in a beta (or in this case more of an alpha) release.
That said, I've checked it out in limited use with Pro Tools FREE on my PowerBook, and haven't personally encountered problems, although I haven't done much with midi at all yet on my system.

However...
I have seen a number of reports of users on a number of forums from MacFixit to Apple to VersionTracker that have reported problems with midi as well as QT Musical Instruments and a host of other possible bugs when used with a variety of different programs. Remember that QT 5 Preview is very much a beta prerelease, so if you experience any problems with it, be prepared to re-install version 4.1.2, available at http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/support/

Been running it since the release and it has worked great with PTF, but my system 7300/G3/U2W etc is highly hacked and tweaked.
Your mileage may vary!
