Soundcard choices?

I have a DAW system that meets all the requirements of PTF. My problem is I have a Digital Audio Labs CardD+ as a soundcard device which does not act as a Soundblaster card would. While I can make the computer sounds etc route through the card PTF does not recognize it as an input/output device. Any suggestions?
I'd hate o think I have to buy a SB128 to get something like Protools to work!
