not enough ram

My computer has 128mb of ram. However 8mb is used by the graphics card. I downloaded Protools FREE, but was told that there is insufficient ram. Is there any way around this? Thanks

If only 8 megs of RAM is being used by the graphics card, then you should be able to run PT FREE fine as long as you don't locad up too many audio tracks and automation events.

Browsing through the forums, I seem to be one of the few who is not experiencing any real problems (yet!) .... and I'm convinced it's mainly because I have 256MB RAM. Bite the bullet and buy more RAM ... all other audio programs I have benefit greatly from thisas well, and I no longer feel I need to upgrade the CPU (I've got a PII 400MHz in a BX board).
