Hey folks,

Just thought I would give Pro Tool Free a shot, and it worked great!!!

Here's some basic specs. for a system I just finished building:

-PIII 800Mhz/100FSB
-PC100/256mb ram
-ASUS BE6-II Motherboard w/440 chipset
-Terratec Base 2 PCI soundcard
-Dual ATI AGP and PCI video cards
-Kingston network card
-20 gig Ultra66/7200rpm/2mb buffer Op. system
-40 gig Ultra66/7200rpm/2mb buffer Audio drive

Hope these help,
I've built several PC audio workstations, 3 sucessful Pro Tools LE Digi001's and an Audiomedia III system, that all work great ( I'll tell you the system above is a bit overkill but, all of my sucesses started with an ASUS BE6-II or Microstar-BXmaster 440chipset motherboard, Windows 98SE w/updates and 192-256mb ram!! no questions asked!!!

Good Luck,
Jahmontee

Hi,

I just read you succes story on the digidesign discusion forum!

I also installed the free version but have a 'minor' problem. Well
minor?

Everytime I change something in the preferences of the application
I get an 'error -37 can't acces the preference file' and sometimes
ending in a total termination.

When I look in the protools folder I see a (very) small protools.ini
file with almost nothing in it.

Can you please tell me if you have an bigger/completer or other
preference(s) file(s) in your protools application folder?

An if so, can you sen me a copy? That would be really great.
Because I can't expect any support other then from people like you!

Thanks Anyway! (cool that there not only negative people - it's free
so why complain - in the forum. That's why they are there in the
first place)
