the demo worked great, but when i open a new session, i punch shift+ctrl+space and the recording starts for about 2 seconds and i get the error -9073 (maybe it's -9093, i'm not sure). anyway, it says that disk must be too slow or too fragmented. so yesterday I defragment my 2 disks but i still doesn't work. I don't get it!! I use a PIII 700MHz, i have 256 SDRAM, the program is on my IDE drive (4.5 Go) and I do the session on my SCSI drive (4.5 Go). what else can I do? th e motherboard is an Asus, and I bought it (along with the PIII) in order to buy the DIGI 01. I'm saving money now and i just wanted to try FPT before spending all my money.
Please HELP ME

Don't let the fact that PT FREE won't run discourage you from getting the 001. PT FREE won't run on my system either. It can't access my Sound Blaster Live! card, so I can't open any sessions or do any recording.
Pro Tools LE on the other hand works flawlessly on my system! I've been using it since June on my Asus P3B-F with a PIII 650 and 256Mb RAM, and 2 ATA 66 drives.
I've tried PT FREE on a couple of different systems now. Due to latency and other general "glitches" with timing, it seems to be a pathetic little program. That's because Digi apparently can't work well with 3rd party hardware and their associated drivers.
Trust me, with Pro Tools LE running on Digidesign hardware on a qualified computer system, you can't go wrong.
PT FREE, in my opinion, is a barely working demo. PT LE is an awesome recording/editing/mixing environment that I could no longer live without!
I've seen in the PT FREE "readme" file that it's suggested that you do your recording in "another program", and then import your files into PT FREE for editing and mixing. This works well. Due to the above mentioned timing problems, it's impossible to record with PT FREE, but it plays back and mixes awesome! Just like real Pro Tools!

thank for the reply. I know how good PT LE is 'cos i use it at work on a mac, it's just annoying not to be able to run PTF properly with my hardware. but i will try to record somewhere else and see what happen. thanks
