Many of the questions/flames on this DUC wouldn't be necessary if people just read the e-manuals that come with PTF. We had to wait for PTF longer than expected precisely because digi were getting the manuals up to scratch!
The sad thing is that although PT is way more intuitive than any Steinberg product, to realise it's potential you must RTFM!

Hmmmmm......
I've read all the documents that came with PTF (and PTLE as well!). Which one is it that you suggest will satisfy me? Which one is it that tells how to make PTF work with a Digi recommended computer system?
It seems that people assume when they read an unagreeable post, that it must have come from a reactionary idiot that doesn't read manuals, and doesn't want to take the time to learn anything. Not always true.
A user conference is my LAST RESORT. I go to an on-line source ONLY after I've read EVERYTHING AVAILABLE to me. And ONLY AFTER trying EVERYTHING to make something work.
I've been following the DUC since PTLE for Mac was released. I've been using Digi 001 for Win98SE since th middle of June, and following the Win98 DUC since it was introduced. If a problem with the Digi 001 hardware or software has been posted, I know about it. If a fix has been found, I know about it.
I thought that this would qualify me to install and configure PTF. Nope! Not the same animal!
I have faith in Digi. Sooner or later, either a Digi engineer, or a PTF user will post solutions that will work on this conference. Until then, those of us with problems not addressed in the included documentation will just have to experiment and wait...
And continue to RTFM!

Fair point, QD but my post said MANY of the flames etc. To hear people ranting about lack of right-click support and other fully implemented stuff gets my goat.
Look at this lot;
"There is no right Clicks on the Mac
Nuendo Smokes Pro tools
(Nuendo has) a Tools box (right Click)
You can even Use the 1,2,3,4,5,keys to scroll through the tools
Nuendo has Grid mode Slipd Mode and Spot Mode
and Other modes "
It's these kinds of ill-informed, non-researched comments that tick me off - not genuine undocumented support issues like yours!
