I have installed PTF and it loads and runs OK. Only trouble is it won't playback anything. If I import a wave file I can preview the wave from ther and it works great but I can't playback anything from the edit window.
Have I got a setting wrong somewhere?
Running a Pulsar card if this is of any use.
Any help appreciated.

I am having the same problem. Loads the demo okay, all the buttons move and I can go to the end of the song, etc, it just won't play! I hit the play button on the tranport bar and it just sits there.
I have Win98, disabled my net card, sounds, and all hardware except my Seasound EX (and the system stuff like hard drives...). I am using a PIII, 7200 RPM 13GB disk, 128 MB RAM. I am going to format and reinstall 98 but would like a suggestion first!

same problem here, pulsar 1, ESS sound card, 256 MB RAM, PII 400 Mhz.
On a plyback the hard drive will click and PTFree will not play http://www.digidesign.com/ubb/images/icons/frown.gif
however Vegas, ACID, Cubase and other products will work. All these other products can use both sound cards while in PTFree I can not even see them, what a shame.

Same here, but unfortunately this topic doesn't seem to be very hot.Pentium II 350, SB live, korg 1212. Previewing wav's is no problem and when I hit play there is some disk activity and my korg 1212 tells me there is a large amount of PCI activity, but the locator doesn't move and there is no sound. I've done just about everything I could think of (and I could think of a lot, been busy for days ) I even made a whole new windows partition so no other program could get near, let alone interfere with delicate PT.Anyway , I suspect my harddisk has been too much of a bargain and I plan to buy a better one (faster acces, higher spin rate). Hope that solves the problem.

Same problem as those listed above. 866PIII, 256meg RAM, 2-30gig IBM HD's w/ raid. PTFree installed fine. I can import wave files and see them in the edit window. BUT, when I choose PLAY on transport window, no sound.
I did find a partial fix--choose Playback Engine from the Settings menu and click OK. I get audio for a few moves and then I lose it again and have to go through the "Playback Engine" steps again. After performing this routine a few times, the whole program locks up.

Same problem. I installed Win98 SE (Win98 First Edition before) and it didn't help, so I don't know what the problem is.
