Clean input signal anyone?

I posted a reply to Clausi (Help?) but why not post my own...

Everything works EXCEPT my mic input for SoundBlaster Live. I get back a pale, tinny, distorted, flanged and latent sound.

No such problems with SoundForge or Creative WaveStudio, so the solution must lie within PTF - somewhere.

Anybody got an idea?

Sounds like a driver issue between the PTF and SBL. Wasn't there something in the read me file about that?

I just checked the Readme, and yes you're right. I must adjust the sample rate and buffer size. I'm having difficulty now finding access to these parameters. they are greyed-out buttons in the control panels and untweakable in PTF Setups.

BTW I'm also not finding the "PCI Parity" switch in BIOS which the quick start PDF says must be disabled.

Somehow it must all work. I fell like I'm getting closer...
