Hi all,
I'm on the fence right now between a C24 and a ProControl. Just wondering how the C24 works for more than 24 tracks in a PT session. Do you simply swith from 1-24 to 24-48? Many thanks in advance.

Hi Martin,
You can bank to the left or right in groups of 24 or you can nudge left or right one track at a time.

The Sub Mixer allows you to bring 8 sterio pairs into the control 24 and then sends those 16 out of 2 outpouts.
A good example of how this works is if you have a bunch of synths that do not need any special eq'ing or anything. bring them all into the submixer and run them into 2 inputs on your I/O that way you have all the other I/o's available for other equipment.

oh cool..i have the digi snake cabling kit, that i bought from guitar center. I have the control 24 and 2 888/24's and one 1622. So i have the cables hooked up to my 888/24's but does that mean i only have 16 tracks right now?

ok, i have been able to get 32 playback and record...I have 3 888/24's and a 882/20 so how do i get these all hooked to my C24. I have the digisnake kit and all...but i'm having problems, when i want 48 tracks it says i have only 32 voices. I also have a core, farm, and dsp card. so i'm really lost........if someone could please help me..

well g8iven the fact that you have (2) 888s and a 1622 I count a total of 32 inputs on the I/O's if you used the submixer on the control 24 that would allow you to bring 16 chanels submixed down to 2 leaving you 30 inputs available.
But remember the submixer is simply a submixer it is the same as hooking up a 16 chanel Makie desk and taking the output and putting it into a pair of inputs on your I/O.
I think this is what you are getting at. Now you said you only have one cable kit. That would be the 16 TRS to DSUB right?
If that is the case plug your less important instruments into the desk via the cable kit.

the cable kit comes in two different sizes. most of the cats i have teched for, usually need additionalcables or ask for a complete custom wiring set up

to get the 48 tracks simultaneously you will need another 888 or an 882
