Just use destructive record mode for those folks. Read about deleting unused regions for the other stuff.

Use Select Unused and Clear Selected from the audio regions list menu. That will dump any unused regions. Be careful of course, especially when permanently deleting (only option that clears your hard drive). If all you want is what's in the edit window, then this should do the trick.

Is there a optimizing function in LE? What I want to be able to do (sometimes) is erase all audio files that don't appear on my edit window. That is, I'd like to keep only the audio that my edit window displays. I often deal with folks who do takes until the performance is right. They could care less about the hundred takes before that. I guess I could go through the audio folder of the song at hand and erase what I need to. However, it would be nice to do it all in one click. I couldn't find a function of this sort in the reference manual.
