View Full Version : "Save Playlist as New File" noise

When I save a playlist as a new file, the new file has noise artifacts near the crossfaded regions. The artifacts are 150-350ms of the audio data at twice the pitch. (i.e.- wrong sample rate)

The Playlist itself plays back flawlessly, only the new file has the problem.

The crossfades are short (20-50ms), and it seems to only happen on the right channel. Both interleaved and split stereo files exhibit the problem.

I am running: SDII 2.82+patch, DAE 3.1.1, Init 3.1.1, Sound Drivers 1.4.2 with AMIII on a Mac 8600/200.

I am new to this system, but I never saw this problem with SDII 2.8/AMII on a Q650.

Any suggestions?

It could be a RAM issue if you have a lot of crossfades. Crossfades are a function of RAM. Try increasing the amount of RAM allocated to Sound Designer.

Do a "Get Info" on the Sound Designer application icon and increase the preferred memory amount by atleast 3000 or 4000 (3 or 4 MB). Leave the minimum at it's default.

If this doesn't help you may want to give us a call here at Tech Support.

Thanks,
