I can do it on a dual display setup, running the video on a second display but doesn't want to do it on the same display as my PT system. Kinda weird.

Hey everyone!

Every time I do a realtime bounce in Pro Tools and I reimport the bounced file into Pro Tools, I notice that Pro Tools has inserted this, approx. 900 samples time gap in the beginning of my audio file. What is wrong with my Pro Tools?

When I output an audio track to a bus and I record that signal in Pro Tools there is no delay. The new waveform lines up with the original waveform perfectly.

I'm doing some sound design these days for a computer game, and it's impossible for me to bounce audio without getting this extra silence time gap in the beginning of my audio files. Why is that?

Im using a Digi003 rack and Im running Pro Tools LE 8.0.1.

Just when everything was feeling really solid...... was editing some Piano tracks... only three stereo tracks, 3-5 takes on playlists.
Some very strange behavior began. I did a search and came up with an identical scenario and will past it below.
My system. PT 8.0.1, PPC 2.7,
I have cleaned prefs and databases..
Below is a detailed post by DUC'r DRUM.
I would appreciate any help sorting this..

We have been having a Pro Tools problem regarding grouped playlists.

This is PC based HD2 with XP SP2 or 3 (can't remember offhand but both should be fine) and PT 8.0.1

Choir recording onto 6 tracks, these were then grouped for tracking purposes. Each take was recorded to a new playlist which protools generated for each member of the group. All is well.
When comping the choir group from 5 playlist lanes problems start to occur. Fine for the first 2 minutes of the song.
When selecting the audition button of playlist whilst in the playlist track view protools re arranges the playlist lanes into a seemingly random order. Some go missing and the others no longer correlate to there related lanes within the group. ie playlist 1 now appears in lane 3 of one track and 5 in an other.
When I come out of playlist view and then back into it protools seems to have a problem redrawing the view. Regions are not horizontally lined up with the playlist lane and others are not there at all but just a black hole where it should be. At this point I go to restart protools but it won't close and comes up with a access violation error.
I have also tried to close playlist view and continue using the playlists in the old manner but I get the same access violation error.

The only way i have found to get around it is to create a new set of tracks and import the takes onto these and not use playlist view.

However we have wondered if we have found a reason for this (as this behaviour has also been reported a few times in the DUC).

When using playlist view on grouped tracks, if another playlist is added to just one track of the group with the group suspended, then that group is re-activated then the playlist view gets a bit funny. The more you use the playlist view the protools seems to struggle to keep everything in order, until an access violation error occurs and you have to restart protools. Upon restart the playlists in relation to the group are out of line and/or missing. The access violation error then occurs again. The only way round it is to manually create new playlists with the correct regions from the region list, which is a bit of a pain.

Does this make sense? Does anyone have anything to add... apart from don't add the one track!

Thanks for reading!
Drum

So was just searching for the D-Fi plugin today, too see how much it costs lately and was astonished to see it come up on Digidesign's site saying "Free."
Huh? I got all excited... but then saw this:
All plug-ins below listed as plug-in version 7.4.x or lower require an iLok license.
All plug-ins below listed as plug-in version 8.x or higher do not require an iLok license.
So wait...
What happens if i want D-Fi, but am running a version before 7.4.x?
(LE 6.4 in fact)
Is it possible to get it? Or am i just out of luck?

From my research I have come across:
Soundminer
I have used Netmix but it was pretty buggy from my experience and that was on an HP with XP installed on it.

I read the post on how to trigger my MPC 1000 using the MIDI beat clock and I am now able to trigger the MPC using ProTools. However, once I trigger the MPC I am unable to record any of the MIDI into Protools (LE 8 running on widows xp)...

1) I have MIDI cables (I/O) correctly connected to the MBox 2 MIDI (I/O). When I press play on Protools, the MPC is triggered, however no sound is heard in Protools...UNLESS I use audio cables as well (I am able to record audio from the MPC to Protools, but I now want to record MIDI for editing purposes)...

2) I have a MIDI track, input set to ALL and output set to MPC 1000 (channel 1), an Aux track input set to Interface 1-2 (Stereo) and output set to Interface 1-2 (Stereo)...

3) When I record enable the MIDI track, record enable the transport window, then press play, I hear and see the AUX track respond, but no MIDI data is recorded onto the MIDI track...

Please help! I have no idea what I'm doing wrong...also let me know if more info is needed...

This is a top of the line analog 2-way, stereo crossover with some excellent modifications.

The crossover points have been cut in half so all the points are 1/2 of what a regular unit would be. This is good because the points they selected were too high. I was advised of this by a top-notch studio/loud speaker system designer.

Also, the power supply on this unit is external. Again, and excellent modification done by the factory by request. It brought the noise floor down significantly (I would guess 10-15db) and it was 1 of 3 in the world with this modification.

It is in excellent shape and ready to go. $1800 new ... asking $1050

Serious buyers only please.

I have been asked to re-mix a session that was recorded on a different computer with PT7.4. Plug-ins are the same on both machines, including two UAD cards. The session opens fine and has been saved to the new system, it typically flows ok for about 40 minutes before it crashes. After the crash, the session is useless (opens but it causes a freeze immediately), I have to find and open one of the file back-up sessions, typically on that was saved 10-15 minutes before the last crash. Most often than not, I can get this back-up session to work well after redoing some of the changes that were lost. The problem is that the cycle repeats, the session will run for 40-50 minutes and eventually crash. I have tried deleting preferences and updating plug-ins, nothing has worked so far. Also, sessions recorded in PT8 and the new machine do not have this issue, I am only experiencing it with this older session which was originally recorded in a PT7.4 system.
