Default Having trouble with Disk being almost full and protools stopping.

i'm running a session with about like 80 or so tracks. I'm having a problem running thm at the same time. I'm wondering is there a way that I can back up the session on another drive and run Part odf the tracks from one drive and the other part from another drive and eliminate this problem.

Basically can i have protools get some audio from two separate drives at the same time.

# 2 will doing this eliminate my problem. i have the complete toolkit and running the tracks is cool but it cant seem to do it off one drive..

please Help thanks in advance

80 tracks in PT MP? never.
MP has 48 Voices aka Audio Tracks at the same time.
You can run 64 Voices (M or S Tracks) when you buy the
Musi Production Toolkit.

Check the Buy and Sell forum.
you can find it at a reasonable price.

For Harddisk Performance:

With a good FW400 drive you can get 32 Tracks 24bit@48kHz from one drive.
TO use data from seperate drives look for Round Robin in your manual and
And Disk allocation menu.

Essentially you have to make a sub mix to 48 tracks to listen to all of your recordings at once.

best

Wink Re: Having trouble with Disk being almost full and protools stopping.

I'm sorry I have an Le system also with the complete toolkit. So I can do 128 tracks. I'm running these on an 8 core at the studio/and core2duo at home. The thing is though that in both cases its just too many audio tracks..

I'm gonna check into this round robin thing.. Thanks

God Bless
