Default Waves 7 plugs fine adjust mode now broken! and also don't work with control surface

Hi,

I immediately noticed this problem to how all the waves 7 plugs respond to being controlled from my control 24 in velocity sens mode (fine adjust mode when holding command key)

Turning a rotary encoder slowly to make careful fine and accurate adjustments and nothing happens at all its like the rotary encoder has broken!!!

I have to turn the encoder really fast just to get the parameter to change at all. which makes it completely useless with my control 24.

I had to check with other plugins to make sure my control 24 hadn't broken

So checked just using the mouse and the command key and nothing!! totally broken

Who beta tests

Chris

What OS are you using? The V7 readme says it's compatible with 10.5.8 or 10.6.2 (which is odd because the latter is not yet even released to public...)

10.5.8 And i've tried lots of the new waves 7 plugs and they're all like it!

Are you seeing this as well?

Wonder if my ProControl will also be hosed...Crizdee, you guys are brave! I'm utterly confused...

I can't get the V7 standalone to come down, was close, but then a 'server reset' broke the d/l. Divine intervention?

I have my Waves 6.1 Mercury+SSL "TLC'd until 1-12-2010" licenses on my key plus POD Farm & 2 Waves 5.9 enablers = total 92 licenses. Crizdee you stated it's 60+ in another thread? Hmmm...And I have to wait until these expire?

Can leave V6 on but once you use V7 you can't go back...V6 would still work on my B room MIX system? Never tried, hmm....another reason to not upgrade.

I think I'll "do without" the free Kramer & Waves Rider until this is sorted ESPECIALLY if you can't use your control surface unless you treat it like a CS10/Axiom "run thru the param" to get things to work. Someone start a "Definitive Thread" next week when all the deets have been sussed. Thanks!

OH and good luck to you guys already locked into the future! Thanks for toiling in the software trench!

I'll have to check this tomorrow, but I'm on 10.6.1 so it might be different than yours. Anyway, I'll get back to you as soon as I've tested it...

Yes, unfortunately I'm seeing this too. Basic operation is fine, but fine-tuning is broken. Works with all other plugs, so it's not a PT issue. Confirmed bug!

More info.

Using a mouse, the Waves V7 plugins act like they are always in the fine-tuning mode, and pressing a command key makes the value adjustment unresponsive.

Using a control survace, the Waves V7 plugins act normally, with big increments, but going into the fine-tuning mode (pressing a command key) makes the value adjustment unresponsive.

This must be fixed by Waves, so folks start emailing them! :)

Don't bother. Someone that participates in either Digidesign or Waves beta program is surely watching these threads, so the problem will most likely be reported and addressed in a timely manner. It's just so sad things don't work as expected from day one...

I have a feeling waves is not really caring about the bugs... the new delay they did - the hybrid thing does not sync correctly to the system tempo but they don't care. There are several people confirming the bug but waves response to me was they cannot reproduce so there is no problem... I wonder how long it will take to get the fine adjustment fixed At least I won't be updating anytime soon...
