All but one of Avid's board of directors have MBA's. This would explain everything. Putz's.

This is not the stuff of which happiness is made.

Truely.. I don't mind being frustated with a faceless company... But I'd rather not see folks getting canned right before the big holidays.. especially in this economic climate.

Add that to customer disastisfaction and I'd venture to say that things are gonna be lean around here for awhile. Digi won't disappear, but they may very well take some hard knocks.

Like I said earlier, January will tell.

Peace!

Ok I've read almost everything here and I'm wondering. I have a digi 002r
and lynx aurora It only gives me 8 ins and outs with the adat lightpipe.
If i'm to continue with pro tools Dont I need an hd core care to be able to get 16 I/O? is thee another way around this??
I'm ready to buy an HD card [pci] for my mac g5..but I'm hesitating after reading all this info...
I understand the native computing thing but there's no hack to make the digi 002 or 3 for that matter
give you more outputs to the Lynx

I'm in nyc and it's pretty much pro tools territory here. People don't go to one studio from start to finish so portability is a major factor to survival.
thanks

The M-Audio Profire 2626 will give you all 16i/o with the Lynx, and when you are using Logic, you will have 24 i/o. You need the $250 Pro Tools M-powered for using PT with the 2626. The only hitch is you have to work at 44.1/48 when using Pro Tools that way...with Logic you can run at 96KHz or even 192KHz no problem using the 2626 + Lynx.

Maybe a big shake up is what the company needs?
Not good for the people out of work though.
